Scripture: “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
💬 The Pressure of Waiting
In your twenties, the world moves fast. Everyone seems to be achieving something — careers, relationships, travel, success — and yet, you might find yourself standing still, waiting. Waiting for the right job, for love, for clarity about your purpose.
It’s easy to feel left behind. But here’s the truth: God does His best work in the waiting seasons.
The word “wait” in the Bible doesn’t mean sitting idly; it means to expect, to hope, and to trust. When God calls you to wait, He’s preparing you — not punishing you.
🌿 God’s Timing Isn’t Delayed — It’s Divine
Isaiah 40:31 isn’t just poetic — it’s powerful. The verse reminds us that those who wait on the Lord will have their strength renewed, not drained.
While the world sees waiting as wasted time, God sees it as training time.
Think about it:
• David waited years before becoming king.
• Joseph waited through betrayal and prison before seeing his dream fulfilled.
• Even Jesus waited 30 years before beginning His public ministry.
📖 Ecclesiastes 3:11 says:
“He has made everything beautiful in its time.”
You are not forgotten. You are being formed.
💖 Waiting Builds Faith, Not Frustration
It’s natural to ask, “Why not now, Lord?” But sometimes, if God gave you what you wanted too soon, it could destroy what He’s building within you.
Waiting seasons teach patience, humility, and trust.
Every “not yet” from God carries a promise:
“I’m not denying you; I’m developing you.”
So, instead of filling your waiting with worry, fill it with worship. Use this time to strengthen your relationship with God, to serve others, and to grow spiritually.
🌼 Practical Ways to Wait Well
Here are a few things you can do in your waiting season:
1️⃣ Pray with expectancy. Don’t just talk — listen. Waiting builds spiritual ears to hear God’s next direction.
2️⃣ Prepare for what’s coming. If you’re waiting for an opportunity, study and get ready. If you’re waiting for love, become the kind of person who’s ready to love deeply.
3️⃣ Practice gratitude daily. Thank God for where you are while trusting Him for what’s ahead. Gratitude turns waiting into worship.
🌅 The Blessing in the Wait
God’s promises don’t expire because of a delay. Every second of waiting adds depth to your story and faith to your heart.
Like the eagle in Isaiah 40:31, you’re not meant to stay on the ground forever. When the time is right, you’ll soar — not because of your strength, but because of His.
💬 Galatians 6:9 reminds us:
“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Keep sowing. Keep praying. Keep trusting. Your waiting is working for you, not against you.
🙏 Prayer
Dear Lord,
Help me to see waiting as a gift, not a punishment.
Give me peace to rest in Your timing and faith to believe that You’re preparing something far greater than I can imagine.
Teach me to trust You even when I don’t understand.
In Jesus’ name, amen. 💖
